Wrinkles are usually a result of aging, the skin produces fewer proteins collagen and elastin. The skin becomes thinner and less resistant to damage. The known causes of wrinkles are; dehydration, toxins, and other environmental exposures. Wrinkles are natural when people are getting old but you can reverse the signs of aging. Here are some tips on minimizing the appearance of wrinkles:
Sunlight UV rays are the biggest cause of premature wrinkles. You have to protect your skin from the sun by applying sunscreen or an SPF moisturizer daily or when you’re going outside for a long period. The sun moisturizing cream is meant to soothe sunburn and helps restore the skin’s moisture to prevent premature aging.
The sunscreen helps prevent the formation of new wrinkles and worsening the existing ones. Even the slightest exposure to sunlight is even for 10 minutes from the windows can cause great damage. Make sure you apply the sunscreen cream to all skin in areas that the clothes don’t cover.
Getting Enough Sleep
According to studies certain sleep positions are likely to cause wrinkles on the face. Sleeping by your face pressing against the pillow in the same way every night causes “compression”. The compression leaves your skin weaker in some other places and forms wrinkles.
The best sleeping position is sleeping on your back. Also, you try and sleep on a silk pillow or provides more comfort than nylon and cotton. Apart from altering your sleeping positions, you should at least get 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Enough sleep relaxes the body and reduces stress. When you’re asleep the body gets time to repair itself.
Quit Bad Habits
Smoking and taking alcohol can bring wrinkles to your face prematurely. Being around secondhand smoke can increase your risk for many cancers and may hurt your skin. Smoking harms the blood flow in your skin and then leads to wrinkles. Alcohol is responsible for most dehydration which can dry the skin.
Some bad habits such as exaggerated or frequent facial movements can cause premature wrinkles. While moving your face, the muscles retain memory which creates wrinkles over time. Turn off the skin as soon as you want to sleep, it will help you get beautiful sleep. Minimizing drinking through a straw, chewing gum, and blowing bubbles can cause a decrease in oxygen flow to the skin.
Wash Your Face Regularly
